Raoux Millereau - Piston Horn
Raoux Millereau - Piston Horn
One side of the garland inscribed “Raoux Brevete S.G.D.G. Fournisseur du Conservatoire 66 Rue d Angoulême Paris” which dates the manufacture of the main body of the horn to around 1890-95. S.D.G.D. (“Brevete Sans Garantie Du Governement”) means “Patent without Government guarantee” or “Patent Pending.” The other side of the garland reads “A.W. Gilmer & Co. Sole Agents. 32 Paradise Street Birmingham” who were the importing agents for Millereau.
The bell also has the typical Raoux stamp, a small oval poincon with the intertwined letters 'AR' (Auguste Raoux) stamped into the brass, plus "Millereau" is inscribed further round on the upper side of bell.
Comes with a standard F crook and the original case.
